Dokudami－Chameleon

It is a kind of dokudami.
In Japan it is called goshiki-dokudami.
They say chameleon abroad.

Myoga

Myoga blooms.
It's flower is white.
Myoga before blooming is good for cooking.

Okra

Okra fruits was listed this blog a few days ago.
Now The flower of okura was found this mornig.
Sliced raw okra furits were served at this lunch.

Cicada

They say it is bamper year for the cicada.
Kumazemis and oozemis are at their peak now.
Tukutukuboshi will tell the end of summer vocation of the school.

Matsubabotan

Matsubabotan and the pine trees are alike in leaves.
and Matsubabotan 's flower is looks alile that of botan.
So it is called matubabotan.

Akaokura

Akaokura matured.
It was first experience to plant red okura.
It will become green when it is cooked.

Enokorogusa

They are rampant weeds.
It's also called inokogusa.
It's drived from the tails of the dog.

Hiougi

The overlapping figure of leaves is like a fan, "higougi".
It's black seed is called "mubatama".
" numatama" is the oldest word that means black.

Manryo

The flower of manryo is full bloom.
It becomes the berry in winter season.
Manryo with red berries is used flower arrangement at Oshougatsu as a luck charm.

Dragon fly

A lot of Shiokara dragon fly can be seen these days.
They are trying to put their tailes on the water surface of the pond.
They must be laying eggs.

Fern

Ferns were transplanted to this place.
They are strengthen the grounding of the rock.
And they prevents from soil's flowing with rain stream.

Yatsugashira

This afternoon this bird came to my garden.
This bird was not seen before.
It stayed a couple of hours in the garden.

Yaburan

The flower of this plant blooms.
The name of this plant is not checked.
This is a tentative upload.

Tourou Yuraku

Tourou Nishinoya in my front garden was replaced to Torou yuraku.
Torou Yuraku made in Okazaki.
And It was belonged a certain clinic in Hiroshima.

Red pepper

Red pepper is turning red.
It used mostly seasoning for chinese dish.
Uguise is singing at mountain side.

Chiso(Aojiso)

Katuonotataki was served today's supper.
And aojiso was at it's side as garnish.
Aojiso is used as simple garnishi for sashimi.

Hototogisu

Hototogisu is arrenged at tea ceremony.
It's name is derived from the bird, hototogis.
The pattern of flower and that of breadth feather are very much alike.

Watermelon

Big tyyhoon No.4 made landfall on Kyshu this afternoon.
And it is moving toward Shikoku.
Water melon is matured.

Goya

Goya is matured.
Cooked in boiled water for 3 minutes,
it will be served with katsuobushi at this supper.
Beer and goya will be good company.

Myoga

Myoga sprouts are comming out these days.
They are necessary for shibazuke.
Shibazuke and Nukazuke are King and Qeen of summer pickles.

Shinpaku

Ｉｔ’ｓ　green is nice.
It was trimmed with hands, not with metal cutter.
Sinpaku bonsai is popular, but not so popular as garden trees.

Yahazu-Susuki

It's name come from the wings of arrows.
It has another name , Takanoha-Susuki.
It is like also the feathers of hawks.

What is this flower's name?

It blooms in the mountain just outside of our vegitable garden.
This photo was taken three days ago.
The flowers name will be checked from the book or website.

Sweet corn

Sweet corn was havested yesterday for the first time.
It was cooked in microwave for 5 minutes.
The taste was sweet and good.

Pcincemelon

A prince melon is harbested toay for the first time of this year.
It has good smell.
It will be served a few days later.

Himehiougizuisen

Hime is princess.
hi is scarlet.
zuisen is daffodil.

Indo-Hamayu

It's country of origin is India.
English name is milk and wine lily.
It's a kind of Hamayu.

Basil

The flower makes basil weak.
It is good to delay flowering by clipping off new flower buds.
Next year I will try what books and web taught me the above.

Nukazuke

The cabbage is here.
The cucumber is here.
The carrot is here.

Gladiolus

The gladiolus is an easy-to-grow flower.
It is especially valued in floral arrangements.
It's arrengemnts fit for the western room but not for traditional Japanese one.

Cabbage

The cabbage harvested in summer tends to have bugs.
This cabbage is controlled harmful insects by our hands every day without using chemicals.
Nukamiso cabbage will be served at today's supper.
