It was purchased at plant fair on October.
This year momiji colors are the best of all seasons.

Daidai

Daidai begins to turn yellow.
It evokes shimekazari, decoration of straw rope.
Ｉｔ is processed into ponzu sauce.

Hiiraginanten

Hiiragi nanten extends it's new leaves.
It has leaves like hiiragi.
It's berries are like nantgen.

Hassaku

Hassaku turns yellow.
This year it's average crop or less than that is expected.
Fruits are all of a good size.

Sazanka

Sazanka is in the shade area.
It is still bud stage.
But it is on the verge of blooming.

Variegatedf Hiragi

Variegated Hirage has white flowers.
It is early days of it's coming to my garden.
It blooms for the first time.

Now we are in the height of the foliage season.

It's like the accumulation of snow in season.

It is alkaline and has a high mineral content.

It is served mainly as pickles in vinegar.

It is one of the oldest vegitables known to humankind since ancient Egypt.
It came to Japan in the Meiji era.

Taranoki leeaves turn yellow.
It is a thorny thrub.
Ｉｔ's new spouts tenpora taste good.

Mizuna

Mizuna ia ready for nabe.
It is resistant to cold.
It is a typical spring vegitable.

The hemiphere of hassaku fruit turns yellow.
This year will be rather bad for hassaku.
It will be harvested at the end of the year.

White caulioflower's head can be seen.
Only the head is eaten.
It is very nutritious.

It's rainy last night and this morning.
Rain drops are shinnig on it's flower heads.

Mikan is ripened.
It is mild orenge.
It looks tasty.

Senryo berries begin to turn red.
In the language of flowers, senryo signifies wealth or fortune.
It is a bringer of good luck.

Yuzu

Yuzu grows in clusters.
It catches my eye these days.
It will be a fat year.

Tubaki comes into bloom.
It belongs to Sei-O-Bo (West-King-Mother) category.
Ishikawa prefecture is it's country of origin.

Biwa

Biwa takes steps toward blooming stage from bud one.
Fruit thinning and wrapping will be held in next spring.
The leaves will be used as tea or medical appication.

Daikon

The head of daikon root break through the soil.
Daikon gives us familiar ease.
Soon it will be served as daikonsuroi.
