Astroemeria, commanly called the Peruvian Lily or Lily of Incas, is South American genus. The genus was named for Swedish baron Claus von Alstroemer. The flowers of Alstroemeria are generally showy and appear to be suited to pollination by bees.
The word hydragea comes from the 2 Greek word "hydor" meaning water and "aggeion" meanig vessel. It was named because seed capsules resemble a small water pitcher. Japanese "ajisai" means the assembly of small flowers.
This is a kind of japanese prototype of hydrangea (ajisai) . It was thought to be extinct. But it was found wild at Rokko mountain, Koube in the 1950s and cultivated.
The flower of Shoubu appears this morning in the wet pond site of my house . Shobu is believed to bring good fighting result. We traditionally take bath in shobu leaves for good fortune.

Mt. Fuji is standing nobly our left side all the day. This is Mt. Fuji just after dawn around 5:30 a.m at the summit of Mt. Kinpu. Deep remaining snow forces us to put climbing iron under the shoes during 12 hours walking from kinpouzangoya to Kobushi goya.
Our 6 members of Kamoshika climbing group are going to traverse Okuchichibu from Mt. Mizugaki to Mt. Kobushi via Mt. Kinpu. To day is our first day of trecking and go from Mizugakisanso to Kinpouzangoya. The top of Mt. Mizugaki commands an extensive prospect of Mt. Yatsugatake mountain rainge.
In Kmakura era, Emperor Juntoku was exiled from Kyoto to Sado. On his way to the island he saw this flower and said " If this flower was besides me, I would be able to forget the capital, Miyako." His comment gave this flowers name " Miyakowasure".
