I read Magoroku Ide ‘Yanagida Kunio wo aruku ’ ( Iwanami shoten.) It is the biography of Kunio Yanagida. There is a monumental inscription in Shibaison,
It is a good book to understand a folklorist, Kunio Yanagida.

Daidai
I read Shohei Iikura ‘Minakata Kumaguzu –Fukuro no gotoku mokuzashioru-.’
It’s the biography of a natural historian, Kumaguzu Minakata.
Minakata strongly opposed the forced shine integration associated with municipal merger in Meigi Era.
According to the book, the main reason for it is that he wanted to avoid the destruction of the grove of the village shrine.
Daidai fruits are growing.

Hassaku
I read Ryoichi Ichikawa ‘Imanishi Kingi Goroku –Shizen no Fukken.’ There are many Kinji Imanihi’s sayings. One of them is that ‘lose a war, hills and river mains, now the states remains , lose hills and river.’ I think the power of nuclear has the highest possibility of the irreparable destruction of nature. We must a strong will to abolish nuclear weapons and at the same time we should know it is no way to use steadily nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Hassku fruits are growing.

Roses
Vox Populi of Asahi shinbun, June 21 told that the Marilyn Monroe’s dress was sold $4.6million. It referred to the wood engraving of the dressed woman carved by Sumio Kawakami and his poem. So I read his book ‘Hanga’ (Tohoshoin.) In this book I found the picture of the hanga and the poem. It was copied from his book ‘青髯 published in 1927. It differs a little bit from the engraving in1926 in Kanuma Municipal Art Museum of Kawakami. Now I want to show the poem in his collection ‘青髯.’“われはかぜとなりたや あのひとのうしろよりふき あのひとのまへにはだかる はつなつのかぜとなりたや”
The roses bloomed.

Natsutsubaki
The book report of Ogai Mori ‘Maihime’ is now wanted by Asahi Shinbun’s ‘Yomitaikoten.’ So I read it. And I wrote the repot and sent it to the newspaper.
Toyotaro decided to return home leaving his beloved pregnant girlfriend and she became mad with knowing his decision. Toyotaro must have known that he was going to do appallingly inhuman way. But I think he recognized very well that he could not live any more without pursuing an elite route in
The natsutsubaki is neat and clean.

Shishito
I read Chomei Kamo ‘Hojyoki’ and Yoshie Hotta ‘Hojyoki Shiki.’ Hiroyuki Itsuki made brief comments on ‘Hojyoki’ in Asahi Shinbun. Itsuki says ‘hojyoki’ describes entirely visible disasters, but we are exposed to invisible catastrophe and this time’s great earthquake surpasses the dismal states of affairs depicted by ‘hojyoki.’ And he continues that the word ‘setsuna’, ‘to live for the moment ‘is used the same meaning ’to live without long-term ideas’, but the important thing for us now is ‘setsuna wo ikikiru kakugo’, the determination to survive for the moment. I was impressed his comment. The shishito has its flowers.

Chiso
I attended the kabuki show for the first time at Kanamaruza in Konpira, Kagawa prefecture this April. I am a little more interested in kabuki than before. Partly for that reason ,I read Yuske Nakagawa ‘Higeki no memon Danjyuro 12 dai.’ Now Danjyuro XⅡ is actively playing. And his son Ebizo XⅠis expected to be Danjyuro XⅢ in years to come. Worse part is that EbizoXⅠ made headlines with his drinking problem last year. Nakagawa says EbizoXⅠshould be well qualified better than before. Because past Danjyuros had many behavior problems and they strived versatility overcoming their reputation of the ill-qualified. The chiso is one of herbs.

I read Hikari Ota ‘Maboroshi no Tori’(Shinchosha.) It contains nine stories. I read thorough only two stories from the beginning. I was not really sure how I understood what he wanted to say. Now I borrowed the picture story of this book by Seiji Fujishiro from the library. The fern was transplanted from the foot of mountain early this month.

Taisanboku
I read Nagaru Tanikawa ‘Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu’ (Kadokawa.Sneaker bunko.)It’s the story of surprisingly ‘uncommon’ school life set in public high school. The characters of students in the story are so superhuman to the point of absurdity. It’s good to read out-of-this-world story once in a while. Taisanboku

The column ‘Yomitai Koten’ in the Asahi Newspaper wanted the report of Goetbe ‘Faust.’ I decided to answer it. And I started reading the book. But I left leading unfinished on the way of the middle of the part 1. I had the same experience a few decades ago. So I read Yoko Yamamoto ‘Ehon Faust’ (Shueisha.) And I wrote a book report on it adding that I quitted reading the perfect copy in the early stage. The pumpkin is gowing.

I read Antonella Angoli ‘Chi no Hiroba- Toshokan to Jiyu’ (translated by Yumi Kayano, Misuzu Shobo.) The city library heightens the sense of crisis among a decrease in the rate of utilization of its books by citizens and makes may attempts at novelty. I think the city library should try to provide sufficient information and enjoyable instruction for citizen. He makes no direct mention about it. It is rainy this morning. Roses get wet.

Shobu (Final 10)
I read Toru Moriyama ‘Dangomushi ni Kokoro wa aruka’ (PHP.) It is the book that Shinichi Morioka recommended in the book column of Asahi Shinbun. Moriyama defines the mind is the hidden parts of activity. And he says the dangomushi has its mind after the elaborate experiment of it. The Rainy shobu is also lovely.

Shobu (9)
I used to play igo on Nihonkiin website. Sometimes I wage reckless attack to capture the land before cementing my own ground. At that time I am counterattacked and fully destroyed. I must plan a strategy. So I read two Igo manual books, Chikun Cho ‘Kabe Seme no Gokui” and Masaaki Fukui ‘Meikai! Jyoseki jiten.” The shobu is almost at its best.

Shobu (6)
(continued from yesterday's comment )Social network services are interactive Web pages. We can obtain information and at the same time we can express our feeling. It is the free field of self-expression. You can see some one who takes interest to you or who is on the same boat. I am sure the social network service will help solve the problems of the elderly in solitary-confinement in the foreseeable future. I think the internet is useful especially for the old since they are able to have the filed of self-expression. Hear is the new shobu bud.

As just described, the internet achieved breakthrough results beyond the role of usual stereotyped media. (to be continued) Purple shobu flowers opened.

Shoubu (4) Satuki (Final 10)
Yoshiaki Hashimoto says in his book ‘media to nihonjin’ (Iwanamishinsho) that in Japan those who shun the the newspaper or the magazine are not disgusted their contents, but instead use the internet taking simply another transmission channel of the same contents. So the book does not mention the contents or the qualities of media at all. I think that it might be part of it. But I think there is something world-changing potential of digital media available for interactive communication. (to be continued)
The satsuki at its best ends today. The best of the shobu is not yet to come.
